Rhinoceros Hornbill

The rhinoceros hornbill is one of the largest hornbills, adults being approximately the size of a swan, 91–122 cm long and weighing 2–3 kg. In captivity it can live for up to 90 years.

Diantara species yang diancam kepupusan kerana diburu untuk bulu dan paruh bagi tujuan perhiasan. Mengeluarkan 2 bunyi yang berbeza apabila terbang dan semasa hungga di dahan pokok.

Mendiami kawasan lowland, tanah tinggi lebih 1500M

Taman Negara Kuala Tahan

Kelah Sanctuary is located in Lubuk Tenor, along the Sungai Tahan, Taman Negara.

It has a research and conservation centre for the kelah fish, also known as Malaysian Mahseer. From Kuala Tahan jetty, tourist can reach Lubuk Tenor by going upstream about 15 – 20 minutes.

Playing and feeding Kelah are main activities beside swimming.

Angling is not allowed at Lubuk Tenor and along Sungai Tahan...
