Latest from www.mutiaratamannegara.com today 4.5.2017 !

The Amorphophallus flower. I have special interest in forest plants and animals. This is my 2nd time I'm seeing this flower although I've seen other flowers of the same family. I've managed to identify this as the flower of the Amorphophallus paeoniifolius plant. It's found in tropical lowland rainforests. It's recorded as the 2nd largest flower in the world, next to the Raffelsia flower. It's from the same family of plants as the common garden plant, the Anthurium. Please view links below for descriptions of the Amorphophallus paeoniifolius. Please note although it's planted in the famous Bali Orchid Ganden, it's not and orchid plant. the tuber (ubi) of the plant is an important food for the orand asli.
